That's pretty funny. I bet most people don't even notice it. That reminds me of something I saw when I was living in Chicago.
There was a diner-type restaurant on the corner by a commuter train stop, and in an effort to drum up some business they put up a big banner on the side of their building saying "Show us your pass, get 10% off." (meaning, of course, your train pass). Then one day some enterprising young vandal got some duct tape or something and covered up the "p" in "pass." The first time I saw it I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants. To this day it still makes me laugh when I think about it. I wonder how many people went in to the restaurant and mooned them, and then expected a discount?

Well, the Bunnies have come under attack from the sprinkler system around the sign... the NNIES isn't looking too good. It's DEFINITELY going to be noticeable tomorrow, if the rain tonight doesn't shred it.

More updates to follow...

Interesting little experiment.

I remember a guy at my school did one for Art which involved covering some of the most iconic statues in the city with material so people couldn't see them anymore. He got clearance from the council so it was all legit. He got the idea from some other high profile artist who'd done a similar thing. The point being that people don't appreciate what's around them until it's taken away.

The odd thing is, the student at my school got a better result than he'd planned. People were writing to newspapers calling it outrageous and people were even spray-painting protests on the material. After a month or so the covers were taken down and people starting looking at the statues again.

P.S.: Please DON'T call the company that owns the sign... I'm conducting an experiment to see how long the change lasts before someone notices the change and takes it down.
My senior year in high school, some of the jocks thought it would be funny to test out the chill cops from the other part of town (Los Gatos, if anyone cares) to see just how "chill" the cops were. The guys tied empty kegs on the roof of a car and cruised up and down the main street of the busy downtown area for over 15 minutes (which is actually a good chunk of time in the late afternoon) before a cop pulled them over. Nothing happened though, the cop just told them to stop. :p

My high school's name was Torrey Pines and I had a great idea to switch the i and the e on the sign, but then I learned that someone else had already done it before. I never did come up with anything to do as a senior prank...

Yeah, thanks, I was kidding. Sorry for the bad joke.

I got it, but it did take a few seconds for me to look at it to get the switch to make a sensible word. Somewhat witty, I would bet that would get noticed/reported much faster than "Bunnies"

how funny! and that mall cafe prank was priceless! these are harmless, I love it!

my friends and I were previously masters of pranks, we tortured each other constantly with random crap.
(i.e.)... tie rubber chicken under the axle of a car, tuck it under and wait to see how long it takes for them to notice all the people pointing and laughing at rubber chicken being drug down the street.
breaking into friend's jeep and pulling off the vent plates and stuffing in baby powder, replacing vent covers and turning the air conditioning on full blast, so they get a little surprise at the start up.
reprogramming all their speed dials to porn numbers or pizza places.
getting little boxes and putting hole punch "confetti" inside, and cutting holes at the bottm, placing it hole side down on a desk, so when picked up..... woooosh!
etc etc etc it went on for years.

our senior prank was over-fertilizing the grass on the senior quad with a huge middle finger. it went over relatively perfect, the hard part was the wait for the grass to thicken in that area. it was pretty funny, none of us were ever caught (and 11 years later I don't expect to be ;))
nothing like shaking things up just a bit :D

In South Australia there's an old railway track called the Pitchy Ritchy. Appropriately, there's a bridge along this track called the Pitchy Ritchy Pass. For some reason the first letters of each word on the signs keep getting rubbed out.

It's still there, but the paper is starting to get a little "fuzzy"... the ink's fading and a bit washed out from where it was attacked by the sprinklers.

Here's a picture from this afternoon.

Any more updates? I'm curious how long it's going to stay up.

It might not be a bad idea to send the picture to the school newspaper (of course do not reveal your identity) and see what happens? :D Maybe it's a bad idea...

It would be funny for prospective students and family members passing by this sign!

:D

I love it

Having formerly worked for a competitor of J&W, this is really funny.

Of course, thinking about Anya (from Buffy) makes it even funnier. :)

It's good to see good clean humor done on a Mac.

Sorry, but I did all of the work using Sony gear... Sony camera, Sony VAIO PC, Sony monitor. (Software by Adobe and Microsoft. Printer by HP. Scissors by Cutco. Tape by 3M.) ;)

Well, if you're gonna change that, I say go all out and change Spectrum to Rectum or even Speculum. ;)
