I started by posting white screens because of my previous troublesome experience with an iphone 12's oled display. It had uneven colors and hues there and there, which led me to read the discussions in this forum about uniformity and off-axis tests, the oled lottery etc. before trading it for this 11. Such an experience kind of 'recalibrated' my vision and now I'm seeing things (on device displays
that I've never noticed before.
I've also learned that Apple uses different manufacturers for its devices, causing differences in display qualities. My 12 had an LG display and my friend's 12 with a Samsung display, which is almost perfect, has none of the issues my display had.
Iphone 11's screens are also manufactured by three manufacturers: LG, Toshiba and Sharp. My 8 plus has a Toshiba display, no color shifts, no dimming. My 11 has a Sharp display and I thought maybe there is also an ips lcd lottery and I got the inferior one.
Sorry for the long post, but this was my train of thought
