Hi All

So, I have a MBP, 2012, that isn't 4k capable, so I was wondering what would happen if I connected my MBP to a 4K TV or 4K Monitor? What resolution, if anything, would be displayed on the device?

Reason: I have spotted a great offer for a 40" 4K TV on Amazon. I am not a gamer so am not bothered about refresh rates etc, I do photo work and dabble in iOS and Android development so what is far more important for me is screen real estate.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You'll be able to set it to the maximum resolution supported by your MacBook Pro and connection you're using. The TV will upsample from there.

I'd guess 1920x1200. Why not bring your MBP into Best Buy and hook it up? You might need an adapter cable as most new stuff doesn't support DVI.
