For some reason the Contacts on my Mac isn't syncing properly to my iPad.
I attach my iPad Mini (5th gen/iOS 13.5.1) with a USB cable to my Mac (MacOS 10.13.6), start iTunes (12.8.2.3) and I click on the iPad icon as shown in this screenshot (red circle) to attach it.

Next I click on the "Info" section which shows "Sync contacts" as seen here.

... the problem is that the contact groups shown here ARE NOT the same ones as in my Mac's Contacts app!
What I mean is that when I've added, renamed or deleted any Group it's not reflected in this section in iTunes as it should (it's worked in the past).
I've posted about it in a Mac related forum section, where I've also described various things I've tried on the Mac but nothing's helped so I conclude it might be an issue with the iPad/iOS.
Suggestions anyone?
