I have been told by my Control4 guru that the "free" (license needed) IPAD app for the Control4 system is not functional.

Anyone beg to differ?

An IPAD is far cheaper than any touch screens being sold by C4!

Yet another reason to slam one now!

:)

The Control4 My Home for iPad is a working application that was specially designed for the iPad form factor. A Control4 system is required for the application to provide home control.

You can see it in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXxD6IEijV0

The application currently supports lighting, thermostat, music and A/V control. Here is a link to the page description on Control4's website: http://www.control4.com/ipad/

The YouTube video is from a friend of mine, who happens to also be a Control4 dealer (one of the best). He got his iPad on day one and has been using the Control4 app at home all of time.

I don't know why your Control4 guru says the app isn't functional, from what I have seen, it works fine.

Don't see a YouTube video but that is one overly pretentious and horribly confusing site. Talk about ODing on Flash. :D

I am using the control4 iPad app. My installer got me a 30 day trial license. Almost everything works with the exception of the favorites and a few other small features. It's a very slick interface. Hopefully it will be available in June I am told.

You have to go to a C4 dealer and buy the license, I don't know of a free one unless you are a dealer and need it for demo.
iPad works great in C4! Was using it a bunch yesterday. They will have a new software update in late June that will make C4 even better.

Ok, I will go back at him again! The app is free of course, the license I think is about $100. These techies sometimes get stuck in their older revisions...
