My car audio system only reads mp3 (and wma), so want to batch convert my music collection (mostly m4a, some mp3) that I have on an external HDD and store it on a flash drive (to stick into the car audio system).
Had a look at VLC but couldn't figure out a way of batch converting them, only one at a time.
Any (free) s/w around that does the job?

PS: ideally without iTunes, to avoid duplicates in my library

Highly recommend Music Converter pro for this. Very basic app that you simply drag the files into and click to convert. It's £10 but worth every penny. Very handy (image below from Apple App Store)
