I am a media junkie, I have about 62GB of films, tv shows and comics stored on a 1.5 TB hard drive (with a 500GB Time Machine backup). I recently bought a new external hard drive, which only has USB2.0 - my machine does not have FireWire or ThunderBolt.

What is the fastest method for copying this approximately 1.1TB of data from one USB hard drive to the other? My googlefu is weak...

Do your Macbook and external drive have eSATA? If so, you could try an ExpressCard34 eSATA adapter.

In that case, bite the bullet and hook up both drives using USB and copy away. Do it overnight and it won't hurt a bit.
