Correct Volume Size Under Icon

Hi all. Does anyone know if this is a known bug: I have the size of my drives set to show up below the icons on the desktop, but it never seems to refresh. I've tried highlight, opening the drive, moving, nothing seems to display an accurate disk size. I found this thread:

seemed that the thought would be that this would be fixed in tiger. I'm running tiger, anyone else have this issue? Thanks

When my external HD is mounted all of the partitions automatically update when connected to either my iMac or my PB (both running 10.4.3), but the internal "Macintosh HD" doesn't update on either of them without a Finder Relaunch. Kind of a pain.
