So, I tried to enable filevault on my tiger powerbook last night, it told me i need an extra 4000GB...... Ive only got 100GB disk.

I then tried to repair the disk, but it keeps failing.

Should i just re-install the OS? I've never done it (had it since 2001)

If the repair is failing, your drive may be heading south. What does the smart status report?
