OS X CSGO Lag

Im having a lot of lag issues with csgo with all of the gaming settings as low as possible.
2009 21.5 inch imac
4 gb of ram
3.06 ghz intel core 2 duo processor
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB graphics card
mac OS Sierra Version 10.12.1
500 GB hard drive (only using 70 GB currently).
My internet is not an issues is there anything i can do or am i just out of luck?

Make sure your computer is running at "full power" - not some "power saving" mode...

the energy saving settings only have time until computer goes to sleep and time until display goes to sleep do i disable those?
