iPad Cursor appearing even if no trackpad linked

Hi all,
As soon as iPadOs 13.4 was available I updated my iPad to be able to use the newly introduced cursor support. I linked several devices trackpads, mouses, apple and Logitechs. but after a while I realized the functionality was not very useful (IMHO).
I removed all linked devices and since then, every time I take my iPad and during several seconds (while I unlock it and shortly after) the grey dot (cursor) appears on the screen and then disappears. Is this an expected behavior? Can I switch it off?

I had this once; rebooting my iPad solved it. Have you tried that?

Ho, thanks for the tip unfortunately that was the first thing I tried. After some reboots nothing has changed. Cheers
