Hello... I'm very excited about the custom gpu I built. Using the EXP GDC Laptop External PCIE Graphics I got a working external graphics card that took off the performance of the imac 2010. I used the wifi pci and connected the HDMI cable there. Attention, it's not HDMI, but it looks like it. It is mainly a Data cable. Although the connection is only PCI 1, the results are superior to the Quadro k2100m I have installed. Now I have an imac with a Quadro k2100m and a GTX 690. (I found it for only 30 euros. It's also a Kepler but basically 2 graphics cards in one. I'm using a 2009 iMac as a second monitor because the signal from the external card doesn't go to the internal display. Although the 690 is essentially 2 cards together, macos only uses one. However, when rendering, final Cut uses both cores of the card. Awesome.

Greetings from Greece.
