iPhone Customised push notification sound is not playing completely

Hi

Customised sound file of 5 seconds which i am using for push notification is not playing completely when the app is in background and when it is closed/killed completely for my end user.Can you tell me the scenarios where i can reproduce this.Will any particular apps that are running in the background can block the app from playing the sound completely
