MP 6,1 D500 vs D600 performance and stability...

I'm new to the 6,1

Bought a used one recently and all was well for first few days.
Now it crashes daily.
No weird software installed.

It has the D500. I'm talking to the seller and they might exchange it for another unit.
Should I upgrade to the D700?

My workflows are not CPU intensive but they are RAM intensive.

Would the D700 generate more heat?

It should run hotter overall - AFAIK it comes with more memory (double the D500's amount?) and is clocked somewhat higher.
Still, I'd give it a try if only for the larger VRAM.
