Apologies for 'newbie' question, I have only previously put together sequences in Fusion.

If I import media (mp4 audio) into Resolve, does it create a copy?
I want to use music from my iTunes library, but don't want any changes to be made to the original files.

While the answer might be a bit late for you, if you do not tell Resolve to make a copy, it does not make a copy, but it also does not modify the original file and any effects and trimmings and such will not be written to a new file (only a cache file or three) until you export it. The original file will not be modified.

But, if that original file is somehow copy-protected, DVR might not open it anyway.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful.... ?
A lot of my media is from CD's imported, so un-protected in iTunes.

This is only for personal work also, so no commercial use.
