I use messages in iCloud and decided to start fresh; I archived all my conversations on my Mac and then nuked everything in the Messages app. The threads automatically got deleted on all my devices, but my iCloud Storage still shows 10.9GB in use by Messages.

Is there a housecleaning process that will eventually clear this out? Or did I somehow end up with a ton of orphaned data? There's no conversations visible in Messages on any device.

I have the 2TB storage plan so it's not really a big *problem*, I'm just concerned about all that data still being "somewhere" and inaccessible.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just looked again and now it's taking up 10.3GB. So there is indeed a housekeeping process going on that's slowly clearing it out. Amusing, that!
