you could download "official" subway maps in .pdf and throw them on the iphone with "pinch and navigate". it doesn't seem like the app does anything above and beyond what i suggested above, and therefore is a waste of money. for any subway map to truly be useful on the iphone, it needs to inform of service disruptions, provide schedules, search & routing capabilities, etc. etc. which all of the other subway apps seem to do. anything less is a joke.
