I'd love to hookup my 12" iBook G4 800 (with the hack of course) to this baby, but I imagine it would be laggy and a bad experience. It would just have to be acceptable enough to tide me over 'till the G5 PB's come out tho. :D

So anyone with iBook experiences with this LCD, please post your results.

Here is someone that has attached his Dell 2405FPW to his 1.33Ghz 12" PowerBook:

Which all seems to be working pretty smoothly.

I currently have my 1.5Ghz 12" PB attached to a 22" Iiyama CRT on 1600x1200 and that works pretty good. It can even go up to 2304x1728x60Hz which (besided the 60Hz) works pretty well. Performance over DVI should be even better.

On 1600x1200 + 1024x678 Exposé gets fairly choppy as soon as you have more than approx 8 windows open. Exposé still works really well, you'll just have to do with a 4 frame animation instead of a smooth transition between your normal desktop and side by side windows.

I'm going to see when the DualTone TCO'03 2405FPWs become available and I'm going to order two of those. I we're going to have to wait a few weeks for the TCO'03 version it's probably going to be an order with two Midnight Grey screens. Really curious how I'm going to like these screens when working with photo's...

Are the monitor controls grayed out when you plug your pb into it?
I recall reading somewhere that Dell controls became disabled when connected to a Mac on the FP2005W. Wonder if the behavior remains with this model.
The controls do not work becuase they're not necessary; the controls are for an analog hookup. DVI doesn't require them.

This isn't a "Mac problem."

The Dell monitors are fantastic.

Hi-

Looking at purchasing the Dell 2405FPW 24" LCD and I was wondering if the stock ATI 9000 can handle it, or if I need a new card...

Thanks

I've just been taking a look at these on the Dell site and seen they are doing a deal (in the UK) to by a second 24" monitor for half price - that's £1288 for 2 x 24" monitors!!

I'm running a 1.25ghz 15" Powerbook - can I run dual monitors?

Thanks

Zim

Is that a Vertical Stand you got for your Powerbook? If so where'd ya get it? That's a real sweet setup.

I just bought a PowerBook 12" 1.33ghz -- I have the Dell 2005FWP 20 Widescreen and Love it. - It runs my PC, and I plan on getting a kVm for the mac, and it also runs my digital HD cable box.
