I have a DeLock 42510 thunderbolt enclosure for SSD which I am trying to use with an imac mid2011 and an old macbook pro.
The unit is recognized in the System information report for Thunderbolt but the SSD drive only rarely mounts. The Apple TB2 cable is new.
I am not sure why the SSD drive mounts only intermittently. Any suggestions as these enclosures are not inexpensive.

That Samsung 830 was first sold in 2012 (ancient for SSD storage drives...)
Have you been using that SSD in a different enclosure, and moved it to your new DeLock?

Yes the drive works perfectly in a USB enclosure; I have the same problem with newer SSD drives as well.

That seems to be the problem. I used a relatively new SSD and now the drive mounts from the TB enclosure. Thank you kindly for your help.
