I'm on 13.4, I didn't update to 13.5 because of the battery drain issue thats been reported. Did they fix it in 13.6?

I would like to know it too. I'm on 13.5.1 and had many issues, sic
So far I have read both good and bad things about the update and the battery
We need more data and after the first install it needs few days to set up . Probably we'll know more at the end of the week. Cross fingers

I have noticed a dramatic difference from 13.5.1 to 13.6. On all my iOS devices, I was experiencing several apps taking 100% background activity, regardless if I had turned off background app refresh or not. 24 hours now on 13.6 and all my devices are running as normal.

I was having to force quit all these different apps (Best Buy and Speedtest were two major offenders) and both of those are behaving normally now.

So, for me, looks like the battery issue is resolved. I have an iPhone 11 Pro, a iPad Pro 11" and an iPad mini 5. All 3 are behaving normally now where before, all 3 were seeing the background activity all the time.

Best Buy is also the biggest offender for me. It would always stay running in the background on 13.5, great that it's fixed in 13.6.

First impressions for me is it did not. iPhone X on 13.6 now. Hell, I even had my battery replaced a day before (it did say "service" in the battery health menu), but battery life is still rather poor.

I looked around and found these tests on reddit and youtube
those are the results. I do not know how precise they are but I think I'm going to wait and wait

So far, this is the best iOS 13 update for me since release. Since updating, background activity has returned to normal and my battery life is stellar. Also, scrolling is extremely smooth with no stuttering.

I don‘t know about the graphs, but battery life for me is the best its been since iOS 13 released. Granted this is only 2 days of use, but I noticed an immediate improvement after the update.

Good to know: I'm counting positive and negative and will decide consequentially

I’ll keep an eye to others experiences because I want to update my devices. My main concern is battery drain, and overall performance and battery life.

And yes @katbel I saw iAppleBytes video, and it was discouraging for sure. I don’t know what to think anymore, but my iPhone 8 is asking for an update.

Battery is much better for me on my iPad. I have to check my iPhone. It was 100% last night and is 100% this morning. I usually lose a couple of percent to 9% overnight.

I just checked my iPhone 7+ and battery was down 1% overnight which is the best it has been since iOS 12.

My XS Max still become very warm when using some normal apps. It begins to do this on 13.5 so, not very different with this update.

Batterylife on my 11 pro has improved significant. WiFi speed is terrible since this update, from 200 Mbps to appr. 60 down and from 400 Mbps to 80 up. (Measured several times on several days, same location) Does WiFi speed have an impact on battery life?

My battery drain has gotten worse since updating to 13.6, was much better on 13.5.1. Running on a 11 pro max, have also noticed the settings menu seems greyish/greenish sometimes after unlocking. Had none of these issues prior to updating.

i’ve been having battery drain issues and also issues with my iPhone 11 getting warm a lot ever since iOS 13.5.1. Especially while using Waze for navigation and streaming music from YouTube via Bluetooth in my work truck like I’ve done every day since I got the phone in November. Because I use navigation every day for my job. But prior to iOS 13.5 and 13.5.1 my phone handled it like a champ. No significant battery drain and the phone never got more than just a tiny bit warm.

I downloaded and installed 13.6 before starting my workday on Friday and my phone was already a little bit warm because I was streaming music over Bluetooth in my car on the way to work from YouTube. After installing it, within about 10 minutes my phone cooled off significantly. And it hasn’t gotten hot once since then. And over the weekend I noticed my battery life has improved. I am once again able to keep my phone off of the charger until it’s time for me to go to bed. Haven’t seen that since before 13.5.1

Thanks man, thanks for your detailed insights about battery life. All those good opinions are encouraging many of us to update. Thanks for taking the time to reply with such a high level of detail.

This kind of feedback is awesome in order to decide wether to update or not.

Battery life is great on mine, with 13.6. Definately better than 13.5.1 and know odd green tints either in the main menu..

I feel the battery is draining a bit quicker than 13.5 on both my 11” iPad Pro 2018 and iPhone 11.

The battery usage recorded per app doesn’t seem to be correct on my iPad (I’ve not checked on the iPhone). See screenshots - the time recorded as spent on each app between 22:00 and 23:00 seems right, but the percentage used per app is definitely wrong!

Double post, just to update. I force closed the Settings app, opened it again and went to the battery section. The percentage used now looks to be correct for 22:00 to 23:00. (See screenshot.)

23:00 to 00:00, however, shows no percentages per app (see screenshot), but when you click show activity to show the time spent per app, it does show the minutes correctly.

I never noticed this behaviour with the percentages occur on 13.5 or earlier.

Same usage as always, I’ve got only 7.75 hours screen on time with my iPad Pro 2018 11”, whereas previously I was getting circa 10 hours screen on time before needing to charge.
