different font used in iOS12

I just upgraded from iOS12 to iSO14 and i noticed mostly in calendar, that the font has changed. If i remember correctly in 12 there was a lighter version used, and in 14 looks like a regular font type. I dont have the old font to make comparison but have a look at the fonts used in 14 if someone is still using 12 to make a comparison.

I believe the system font in iOS 14 is still San Francisco, but maybe with the introduction of variable font formats, it looks slightly different. I don’t have any devices on iOS 12 to compare, but I’m pretty sure that version also used SF.

Could SF have more than one font variation? Like for eg. Light, Regular etc? Cause the font thats used in 14 looks slightly thicker. If the Light variation was used in 12, i would say it looked much much better, more fine and stylish!

Thanks, but i cant see anywhere saying if possible to use a variation of SF of my liking.

Ah, but that wasn't your question. You asked whether the fonts have more than one variation, i.e., weights like bold and regular. The article indicates they do, but that's for developers, not for end users. It is possible to buy and install custom fonts, but I haven't tried it. Go to Settings > General > Fonts if you want to try seeing if anything available on the App Store might suit your goal.

Or maybe you can find an alternative Calendar app that has a customizable font feature.

Even though I suggested adding fonts too, I’m pretty sure there’s no way to change fonts on Apple’s apps.

I've got devices on 14 and 12. A quick glance shows the fonts within the app appear the same. The app icon does have a slightly bolder font.

Could vary by device/settings or something but that's what I'm seeing on 4" and 5.8" screens.
