Spin down drives or not spin down drives. I heard it was more wear and tear on the drive by having it spin back up all the time after it spins down. Then again, you'd think having it spinning ALWAYS can't be good for it either. What are people using for a disk spindown setting?

This debate comes down entirely to how long you'd go between accessing the drive. As a rule, I keep them spinning all day that I'm using the machine because I'm almost always accessing them. If I only used them every half an hour or so, I'd probably let them spin down. Others will probably have different rules of thumb. :)
