I am trying to install Tiger on my Mac mini and it keeps running into errors. I repaired permissions but can not verify or repair the volume. I get the error 'The underlying Task reported failure on exit' on both the verify and repair proccesses. Any suggestions?

Startup with the Tiger install CD and run Disk Utility from it. Will be a menu choice.

When I upgraded my iBook, I had similar problems.

I used Disk Warrior to repair the drive; it worked where Disk Utility would not.

In your head.
You should still be under warrenty, and this really looks like a warrenty problem. AppleCare will walk you through your problems, they may even send you a better repair program, but it is likely that it is Apple's fault.
