The above specification is for a powerbook that has been sitting dead a while now. Have downloaded a RESTORE file 3.7GB of Leopard 10.5.8 for this powerbook model & using transmac in attempt to burn it ,ir says; "Image is too large for this media" Where as the disc ? is 4.7 GB. So decided to get another one... 8.5 GB & gives same error in Transmac. Comments would be very much appreciated.

An 8.5GB DVD is a double-sided, double-layer DVD. I do not think MacBook Superdrives supported double-layer. Try a double-sided, single-layer disc. I believe those are labeled "DVD-10".
