Essentially the title.

Am dropping off my iPhone at the Apple Store in a few hours and am wondering if they’ll ask for my 4 digit unlock code. Wondering what to expect really. Thank you.

No, they don’t need your passcode. Back up your phone to iCloud before you take it in. If they say they need it unlocked, then erase the phone before you give it to them and restore from backup after you get it back.

Nope. See my edit above. Backing up the phone also backs up your watch I believe

I ask only cause I know when it comes to an Apple Watch battery replacement they just give you a new watch or refurbished I just know they don’t open up the Watch and actually swap out the battery

Good point. I’d unpair the watch to set it back to factory default

I just did my battery replacement last week.

They had me unlock my phone. They had me turn off Find My

They confirmed my ID.

They ran diagnostics.

They had me shut my phone off.

Then I came back in an hour and picked it up, on but locked.

Yeah they do all that because sometimes battery replacement goes wrong and they end up bricking the phone in which case they need to give you a refurbished one.

This is exactly how it went down.

Took my old XS in for a battery replacement and since I had taken it off Find My and reset the phone prior to being it had no issue. They also replaced the speaker and the defective screen camera at an extra charge. Two hours later had it back

Handed my iPhone over at 7:30pm and it was ready by 8:45pm

Cost was $49 which is great considering I heard prices are going up on March 1st

They sent in the Apple Watch out but should have it back by Wednesday.
