iPhone 15/Plus Do you miss 120Hz on the 15?

I’m on the fence between the 15 and the S23. I’m coming for a 12 which up until now I haven’t been bothered by the 60Hz screen but with all the new phones having 120Hz and looking so much modern and nicer I’m debating going with the S23 (cheaper than a 15 Pro).

If I’m going to keep the phone for 3/4 years I think 120Hz is needed, but I would miss FaceID A LOT.

It’s really not a big deal imo. Yeah it looks slick, animations are smoother, but it’s just eye candy. I adjusted back to 60hz in 10min and don't give it a second thought.

It’s a bigger difference on the iPad, really night and day experience in scrolling there.

I went from 14 to 15 Pro and the 120 hz, in my opinion, is not a huge deal. It’s nice but not something I’ve noticed beyond first couple of minutes. Maybe once I experience for a while, going back to 60 would be noticeable. I don’t know.

The 60 hz was always implemented well with the OS and animations.

If you are someone who flips through your photos library quickly to find something I think having the high refresh rate is a big big deal. I'm on a promotion display since the 13 pro (max) and have always been in the camp of "it probably doesn't matter that much". But last week I had to use an iPhone with 60Hz for a few days again and it drove me mad. Scrolling through instagram, news articles and photos was horrible compared to 120Hz.

I've been using ProMotion on my iPad Pro since 2018. And I've used it on iPhones previously too.

I cannot see ProMotion. I use corrective lenses. I'm relatively young. My eyes simply cannot see the difference.

I feel this is a very personal thing. Some people insist it makes a huge difference. Others like me say it's a non-factor.

Whether it's an issue for you is entirely up to you. I miss the always-on display from my 14 Pro. ProMotion is irrelevant to me.

60hz looks slow and choppy. It’s a no go for me. I wanted a MacBook Air, but not with that choppy screen. Oh well…

you know how everyone prioritises certain aspects of a phone right? For example the second commenter said they don’t care.

For me, is absolutely essential. Is the main reason I switched to the pro models in the first place.

This is my first “pro” iPhone. I finally switched because of a few things. I really wanted camera zoom. I love the always on display after having it on my watch for a few years. The high refresh is nice, but not earth changing. Though I’ll probably get used to it and become a snob

For me the problem with the 15 Pro was battery life after seeing some reviews. I was considering buying it for the 120Hz and small body, but not with subpar battery life.
