"No escape from Reality...”
Ha, ha, I'm a Drummer (insert joke here... ;) ).

Growing up in the 60's & 70's, that beautiful Moog Sound....

Then a child of the 80's (Synths totally!)...

Even today, love Synthwave and Space Ambient.

Now with Garageband and Computers, I thought that the Moog is long gone.

But on YT I found the history of Moog and the Moog channel. They're still around?

I knew people bought used ones (I was at a used music/record shop and someone had snatched one up).

Does anyone here or you know of someone (even a newer band) that use new ones?

Thanks for the info..

Yes, they are still around and making a variety of synthesizers.
As one of the more well known synth brands, there are really too many bands to mention that use them. Google is your friend there ;)

There's been something of a renaissance of analogue synths - first, if you can't afford the hardware, you can get one in ''virtual instrument' form and, maybe prompted by that, there's now a lot of chea... er, well, less-expensive analogue hardware around.

If you want to get your Moog on, Moog music do a great, official, iOS app simulating the Model 15 Modular synth (I'd recommend an iPad although it works on a phone).

Its only about 30 bucks so you don't need to be a serious keyboard whiz to have a go. You wants it. The only shame is that there is no Mac version.

There is a software version of a... certain famous modular synth(tm)... available for the Mac, but its more expensive (still vastly less than the real thing though). They also do an emulation of the much simpler "Mini" non-modular version.

...Arturia sometimes have substantial Black Friday discounts.

Or if you want to play with simulated modular analogue synthesis for free, check out VCV Rack:
https://vcvrack.com/ ...its not Moog, but half the filters are mimicking Moog's design, and that's where a large part of the sound comes from.

If you want a real hardware analogue synth, though, but don't have any multi-million record deals to fund it, Behringer do a cheap knockoff of the MiniMoog: https://www.behringer.com/Categorie...and-Samplers/MODEL-D/p/P0CQJ#googtrans(en|en)

Not quite what you were asking but: https://www.moogmusic.com/original-series?type=6

If you like space/ambient (esp. Tangerine Dream style): https://redshift2.bandcamp.com/ - probably the last people mad enough to try and take an original Moog modular on tour...

OMG - thanks - another place on Bandcamp to get music. Ordered two of their CD's...

You probably already know of Cryo Chamber where I've been getting a lot of my Space Ambient CD's...
