Do you want a 4K MacbookPro 16 Inch

4K Resolution is 3840 × 2160.

The current 16 Inch MacbookPro has a screen resolution of 3456 × 2234, which is almost 4K but not quite.

I would immediately buy a 4K Macbook. Netflix and Youtube would be in native 4K, instead of a 1440p or 1080p scaled up stream, 4K HDR is amazing. UHD video editing would also be native.

Would you guys be interested in a 4K Macbook? Why has Apple not created a 4K Macbook and will it change in the future?

I see the advantages you point out, but that isn’t my use of a computer at all, hence my “No” vote. If I want to do a video watch, it’ll be on my iPadPro or a home TV. Main computer is a 2017 5K iMac but again, little video viewing.

You'd be losing about 1cm from the top for a 2cm difference on the left and right. I'd rather keep the aspect ratio and have both the width and height increase.

just about every other metric of a display is more interesting/important to me. I have a 4K TV for watching 4K content and it's way more enjoyable to use than my 16" MBPro for that function.

I wouldn't mind if it was 3840 wide. Not sure if I'd be able to tell the difference if no one told me the resolution was higher. I would not want to lose the current aspect ratio. 16:9 might be great for video and games. But horrible for a lot of web browsing and work scenarios. On a laptop sized screen.

It depends. If you plan on never connecting the MacBook to a monitor, then yes. 4K would be game-changer allowing you to do everything from video editing 4K footage to watching native 4K videos.

If your laptop can handle 4K output, then I don't mind the screen resolution. I'll take a 1080p high refresh-rate laptop any day. At least our MacBooks have 120hz HDR screens.

For the extra cost and hit to battery life I'd rather have an 18" 4K MBP.

The resolution is close enough to have enough space to edit already, so I would rather have a 24/27 new monitor from Apple matching the MacBook Pro's specifications.

Analogue Pocket handheld gaming device has a dpi of 615. A 16 inch MacBook could easily have an 8k+ display. Apple must have a very good reason not to have it at least 4k, like components can't be found cheap enough or it'd drain too much GPU/memory power to have a super high resolution, or maybe they are saving it for later.

So yes I would like a 4k MacBook Pro, well higher than 4k so it can keep the same aspect ratio of course.

I'm one of those who really can't tell the difference between 1440p and 4K or if there is a difference it is something that disappears within 2 seconds of actually paying attention to the content I'm watching.

I could see if you are editing 4K content it might be useful? But I don't do video editing and have zero interest in it. I really love the current 16" MBP screen especially the aspect ratio.

With that small a screen, there really is no point with 4K as the human eye would have real trouble seeing the difference between 1080p.
