iPad Dock disappearing in landscape

Has anyone else had issues with the dock not appearing in landscape mode on an iPad? It’s been doing it for a while, and while I can’t say for sure, it seems to be happening more often. I have to restart the iPad to get the doctor show up again, or just rotate to portrait mode, but even that doesn’t fix if I go back to landscape.

I’ve had my iPad Pro 10.5” since Apple launched this model. I’ve never had an issue with losing the dock off of the screen in any orientation. My mom was having issues with her iPad Air 2, but for her, the dock would not pull up from the bottom while in another app...that eventually resolved itself as well.
