Yes, I signed into Google this afternoon. When, I dont remember. Am I missing the value of this warning? It tells me nothing. Or am I missing its value to me?

You are the one.

It’s a pain but any new device gets flagged. You just have to go through the motions.

Ive been using this iPhone for two weeks, receiving mail from google. Looks like it would know the device after two weeks.

If still suspicious, maybe see in the settings if the supposed unknown device shows up differently or if your account has ever been accessed before?

( While signed in to your gmail, or at least browser version). Click on Avatar==> "manage your Google Account" ==> Security ==>(scroll down to) "Your Devices", ===> "Manage All Devices" and you can log out anything. The activity and time stamp, will show up for each one.

Not sure how helpful that will be, but that is the only other tool I can think of they have.

Regardless of the “unknown device”, do you remember if you were prevented from signing in? …which is what the email is asking.

This is a little bit different than the emails we sometimes get that just say your account was used on a new/unrecognized device.
