Topic :D so does it support anything? Or is it on the same level as the usual Sierra?

Confirmed (= as seen on youtube) setups working plug&play with High Sierra beta

Akitio Node + amd rx580
Akitio Thunder2 + amd rx480
of course Apple devkit (Sonnet Breakaway Box + amd rx580)

no hack of any kind required, just log out and log in

fun fact: they work even before High Sierra is installed, already in the install wizard (AMD cards of course, not nvidia)

So, pretty different from Sierra.

nice! What about Nvidia though, have you seen any results?

nvidia needs to update their drivers for every macOS update, so at every point update you have to worry something goes bad (not much unlike if you had an hackintosh). currently there are no working nvidia drivers for high sierra.

and nvidia would never work before the installation of the OS because you need the OS to download and install nvidia web drivers

the only hope to get an "it just works" experience with nvidia is if next year, after the new Mac Pro is out, apple natively integrates some nvidia drivers into macOS

it should be noted that the official availability of eGPU supports for consumers in macOS is "Spring 2018", not fall 2017, so there's plenty of time for a lot of things to change (two glaring omissions currently are HDMI audio from the eGPU and the possibility to use the eGPU to power the internal display of macbooks)
