iOS Does the Tab Bar Controller allow for the icons to be scrolled?

I am thinking of creating an app with a tab bar controller that has a lot of icons. Is there some way to cause those icons to scroll across the tab bar? There is an app called Complete Anatomy that does a similar thing but I don't think it uses the Tab Bar Controller provided by Xcode.

Not the stock one, but there are plenty of open source controls that you can use. Check out cocoacontrols.com.
