Does this not feature in 2.0?

Hello All!
remember on the original iPhone (before 2.0) you could create links to websites to be displayed on the home screen and by holding down the home button, for a few seconds, you could move the different icons around on your screen and delete these website links.... well with my 3G this feature doesn't seem to work! anyone encountered this or should i go and see an Apple genius tonight after work?
