How many people have a Mac Pro and have a superdrive that doesn't eject normally after the disc is spun down?

The stock Sony drive in my Mac Pro works fine but, the Pioneer 109AB drive doesn't like to eject after the disc in the drive is spun down. When that happens, the cursor gets jumpy or laggy for about 10 seconds, then the drive spins up, then it unmounts and then remounts on the desktop. Only after all that, I can then hit the eject key again to eject the disc.

The other drive I tried was an NEC that I took out of a firewire case and after the drive would sleep... it wouldn't wake up at all. The computer would completely freeze and then I'd have to force reboot.

So the real question is... which drives actually operate correctly after their spun down? I'm using a Mac Pro.
