Hey guys,

i just received my new iMac and alongside all the setups i am also looking at bootcamp for some gaming.
They keyboard is kinda wacky (no dimming via the keyboard? Q is @ instead of L?

But the bigger issue is that AMDs adrenalin claims that i have no AMD GPU installed.

I was running a 2012 iMac so far and got used to g force experiences just taking care of everything.

Could you point me in the right direction of setting this up? <3

The keyboard issues sort of sounds like the boot camp installer didn't run upon initial boot up into Windows to setup the drivers for that. I had that happen last year with my 2019 iMac and the mouse wouldn't work and only way to get the keyboard to work was plugging it in so windows saw it as a "wired" keyboard. That was fun trying to navigate to the folder where the boot camp drivers are located!

Yeah unlike with NVIDIA. AMD releases separate drivers for boot camp which are a few versions behind the PC versions and are probably controlled by Apple. Right now there isn't a driver for the 2020 iMac on the AMD boot camp site. If you right click on the desktop, do you see a AMD radeon settings option in the pop up menu? If you do, the boot camp assistant installed the correct drivers for the card and going into there you will be running 19.50.

Nope. I don´t see it.
I tried to install the iMac pack by AMD but that dident work, it might be super dated as it is a few month old.

I thought i saw someone somewhere talking about how this card pretty much had drivers for ogpu already. I was wondering if maybe it i need the MacPro driver set. Pretty confused right now.

Did the boot camp installer open upon initial boot?

Try going through these steps.

19.50 is
  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 16-inch, 2020) with Radeon Pro 5600M
though.

Hmmm.

Yeah, but a version of 19.50 I guess is what got downloaded to my iMac when I installed windows through boot camp.

I would try going through these steps to reinstall the support software and see what happens.

The issue is AMD hasn’t released drivers for the 2020 iMac yet besides the one boot camp installs upon installation of Windows.

That sounds very unprofessional. It's a 600€ upsell, making this a 800€ GPU essentially.

But still I SHOULD have the AMD menu? When I right click the desktop? Because that I don't have.
Tried xCom 2 today and was shocked how bad it was performing beyond 1080p. I know this is not a gaming machine, but that's a game several years old.
Anno 1800 also is fairly choppy. Not feeling 30fps at all. Considering that game ran fairly fine on my 21.5 2012 iMac (at lower settings, but still) it feels like optimization is missing.
Planet Zoo is running fine though. Just had to figure out how to upscale the interface.
Starcraft 2 (under MacOS) also seems to be doing fine.

iMac 2020 with 5700 = drivers v 19.50
Everyone else with 5700 = drivers v 20.2

I have games complaining that I need to upgrade my drivers.

Yeah whatever reason, we are always a year behind or so in drivers with Windows.

I am trying to update to 20.4.2 for the Radeon Pro 5700 XT in my 2020 27 inch iMac. I am not able to get it to work with the AMD bootcamp software. Their website says to contact the manufacturer (Apple) for driver support. Does anyone know if Apple is planning on updating the drivers?

The normal drivers do not work with the Mac version of the 5700 XT. Have to install the boot camp drivers from the site linked above which the latest is 19.50.

Hi,
has anybody news or an instruction, how to update the AMD driver? I have still the 19.50 Version (iMac 27",2020),
and I have a lot of graphic problems, slow Windows, very slow working 3D display, etc.etc. etc.
I have tried all possible drivers, from AMD and Apple suggested, but every time I want to install it I get an Error 173, no AMD graphic card installed, so I cannot install any other driver. No Pro driver nor a radeon driver

I have been using Bootcampdrivers.com as well for years and they guy who does the modding to make them work is awesome. For full 5K you'll need the Blue Drivers. The Red drivers give a slight FPS boost for gaming but you're limited to 4K.

Version Numer 19.50.32.03 -> 20.45
