After upgrading to macOS Sierra, and iOS 10 on the iPad and uploading latest versions of Duet Display, what was working seamlessly is now problematic. E.g.
  • Cursor as it goes from Mac to iPad becomes huge
  • Window dragged from Mac to iPad goes black until fiddled with
  • Some text becomes white-on-white
  • Some window borders break up
  • Exiting duet on iPad can leave Mac thinking windows are still on iPad
Evidently something is amiss. Just me and some simple solution? Or a problem with Duet Display??

Are you on the latest version of duet (1.6.0.2.)? I know the cursor problem is solved.

As for text/window borders and black windows, those are macOS sierra bugs for USB displays. You should report them to Apple to help them prioritize.

Thanks. In fact, I am on version 1.6.0.2. But I'll watch for updates.

Sounds like patience is needed!

Can you e-mail us? I can try to fix it. Cursor I know I can. Other stuff I think is Sierra. Also, what kind of Mac is it?

Has anyone got any experience of the new version that was released last night. I'm curious how well the graphics tablet features work as I'm weighing up this and Astropad.

Hi! - well I've paid for BOTH Duet Pro Versions and Astropad STUDIO - which both are the high end versions of each APP.
I am using a Macbook Pro 15" 2013 - i7, Retina, Nvidia 2GB, 16GB Ram
and an iPad pro 2015 - 12.9" - 256GB

And I can just resume it like this:

Duet Pro works very well as a second monitor extension.
It sucks at making your iPad a drawing tablet.
It's just too full of glitches and lag.

Astropad is made ONLY for drawing - and for this it works amazingly. The response rate, and accuracy are just flawless.

I use duet display for productivity (I work as an UX/ UI Designer as well)
and I use Astropad for drawing.

You don't need to go PRO on Duet Display for this.

That's my take on it. I hope it helps!

Duet display worked until around this fall, when I upgraded to high sierra on my mac (now using 12.13.1). Duet itself largely worked if a bit buggy (on left side for example, not right). BUT, biggest issue was apple mail, where emails were getting delayed hours vs iphone. After two hours with apple senior advisors, safe boots, new user accounts, re-adding emails, and individually removing added app's on mac, turned out to be my duet display. Once i removed duet from mac completely, now back to instant emails on mac. Odd, but they need a fix.

until then, adios duet, don't even bother and save a few bucks out there...

Another thing,
I am just trying Duet on an older MacMini using OSX Mavericks or as well Monterey.
Of course with two different versions of Duett.
I want the iPad to be the only (single) display.
Generally it looks good. I have screen and menu.
But mouse movements only, when a primary monitor is connected. Not important if in mirror mode or seperate.
When the primary monitor is disconnected, mouses (wireless or wired) are out of movement. Mouseclick works.
I can finger-move the mouse on the iPad itself.

Anyone knowing this symptom?

Problem resolved.
Mac Mini 3.1 (late 2009) and Mavericks 10.9.5
It seems, that when no display is connected, that the mouse movement is locked.
I tried a (Mini display port) Ghost-Stick, to simulate a monitor.
So it works...
If have not tried well some resolutions. Some need a restart.
Otherwise, the mouse position does not fit to the screen resolution.
