It’s too bad Apple didn’t bring back the 12” MacBook when they introduced the M1.

For a 12" inch MacBook, I'd be perfectly happy with A18, as long as it could support macOS and 16 GB RAM.

In fact, even my lowly A14 in my iPhone 12 Pro Max is already faster than every single Intel Mac in my house.

And that was a terrible product. It was just cheap.

I mean, for you maybe! I ran an 11" MacBook Air for years and it carried me through the later half of college and beyond. Absolutely loved it and have another sitting in a box waiting to repaired and put back into service. Device preference is always subjective!

The 11.6-inch MacBook Air was a fantastic product. I still have two on my desk with macOS Monterey.

The only testing I have is an M2 iPad Pro, which doesnt fit properly. However, after closing and opening, it doesnt seem to be an issue. Its almost the exact same material as the laptops, and I have never had issues with those.

That’s because there’s a rubber lip that runs around the edge of the screen on a MacBook so it doesn’t come into contact with the keyboard. The iPad doesn’t have this and is the reason why the keyboards have been manufactured of a soft material so far as the screen will sit directly on it.

Agreed! They should definitely release this with an M chip and call it the MacBook SE (even though MacBook Air would be a more appropriate name for it).
