What do you mean by best? They all work the same, really. It plugs into a receptacle and has a switch on it to turn on or cut off power.

Reliability wise, I’ve had no issues with the eight Wemo Minis I’ve been using for the past couple years. They just work and no drops from the internet or HomeKit. However, there are many out there to choose from and you’ll get mixed opinions on here.

Make sure the fan has an actual rocker, paddle, toggle (or push button where the button stays depressed when on and stays extended when off) switch that stays in the on position when it’s unplugged. If it has a push button switch where the position is discernible when unplugged, this likely won’t work.
