Hi All,

I am not a mac expert but I thought I would try to solve this issue myself as the Western Digital Clan are not being helpful. Well I think anyway.

I have used this drive to store data on the same macbook pro 2013 and it is failing to mount. I tried to mount for terminal and failed. I ran first aid and got the following error:

Running First Aid on “Elements SE” (disk2s2)

Repairing file system.
Volume is already unmounted.
Performing fsck_hfs -fy -x /dev/rdisk2s2
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Detected a case-sensitive volume.
Checking extents overflow file.
Checking catalogue file.
Invalid sibling link
Rebuilding catalogue B-tree.
The volume Elements SE could not be repaired.

What can I do ?

TIA.

Unfortunately, not much. The file system is borked. You will have to erase and reformat to make the drive useable again. If you need the data on the drive, you can try software like DiskWarrior or Data Recovery which might be able to give you opportunity to recover files.
