Hi all,

Hoping someone can give me a definitive answer to this as it's a little unclear to me from what I have read online. If I have a cellular Apple watch but no data plan for it can I still make a 999 call in the UK if I was not near my iPhone?

I have seen a mix of answers from yes, no, only in the US and yes but you must have had a plan active on the watch previously at some point (for a month or something then cancel I guess) etc etc?

I am paying for a watch plan at the moment but planning to switch to a different provider and thinking about not taking up a watch plan with them as I only ever wanted it for the peace of mind in emergency.

Thanks!

To be safe, it sounds like you should either get a plan for your Watch or keep your iPhone as nearby as possible should the need arise.
