In the Passcode Settings on iOS 9, we have an option called Erase Data as shown from the image.
Is this the same as the MAX-FAILED-ATTEMPTS configuration profile setting as noted below or is the Erase Data setting different in a sense that it only just erases data and that's it?

Optional. Default 10 (iOS only). Allowed range [1...10]. Specifies the number of allowed failed attempts to enter the passcode at the device's lock screen. Once this number is exceeded, the device is locked and must be connected to its designated iTunes in order to be unlocked.
