They stopped at XS as is obvious by the S in the name. There was no iPhone 7s.
Officially XS/XS Max. I agree with @StumpyBloke, new phones are slightly better than the one they replace and seems software locked features are the biggest difference.
I feel like the 13 was the "s" to the 12, and the 14 was a new design (dynamic island) and the iPhone 15 is the "s" to the 14.
