Hello,

I have BIG problem after updating to macOS Ventura.
When I try to save changes to an excel file located in a network location (SMB) I get the message - " The document was saved successfully, but Excel cannot re-open it because of a sharing violation. Please Close the document and try to open it again".
When I try to re-open a get a message "This file is locked for editing".

Before an update everything was fine. The problem occurs on two devices.

I have exactly the same problem with Excel files located in a network location (smb). Strangely, both pdf and word files work. Everything was fine in Monterey.

I found the workaround. When you're connecting network drive change path from smb://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to cifs://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Thank you. I can now save and open excel files. But it is a lot slower to navigate folders on the network server. Hope Apple/microsoft will fix it with an update.

Is there someone who has found a solution to the Excel / SMB problem? Unfortunately, CIFS is very slow when I use this.
