I bought my first MacBook Pro with M3 Pro, 36gb of Unified Memory and 1 TB HD, I am wondering if there is a Blu-ray/DVD/CD
And if possible a writer player I can buy and play them on my computer that anyone recommends? Don't need it for ripping or anything like that. External that is, I've seen an lg one not sure if it's any good

This is simply a GUESS, but I don't think there are any BD/DVD/CD "players" that exist as standalone computer devices. That is to say, they're all "burners" as well, whether they be small-sized or the larger ones that fit into 3.5" drive enclosures.

I've been considering one myself. A couple of URLs that I saved for Pioneer:

Interestingly, the above drives come with this notice from Pioneer:
"Pioneer optical drives are not recognized by macOS Ventura 13.2, released by Apple on January 23, 2023. This can be resolved by updating to macOS Ventura 13.2.1, released on February 13, or a newer version."
