Hi guys.

I read somewhere that TRIM is only available on external drives connected by Thunderbolt 3 - does this mean that an USB-C external SSD disk will not have TRIM, despite being connected to the TB3 port??

TRIM isn't supported over USB on macOS. Even though Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C use the same connector, they are not the same protocol.
A true Thunderbolt drive would support TRIM but a USB-C drive would not.
