Hello there, first post! Hope this is in the right place.

After trying a few methods of installing Windows 10 on an external drive (SanDisk ultra 2 500GB SSD in an enclosure) using my old mid-2010 27' iMac, I hit success using Rufus to create bootable software with Windows to go using this tutorial. Now I have a Windows installation I can access via USB2.0, and 3.0 on a newer early-2015 13' Retina MacBook Pro.

Problem is, I'm having trouble launching Windows while the drive is connected via FireWire800. The boot option shows in alt menu, and windows logo pops up, but after a few seconds a blue screen error pops up, INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

I have installed Bootcamp drivers, and the IEEE1394 port is showing up in windows device manager. I can access everything on the drive via FireWire back on my mac. Any ideas as to what is preventing this launch? USB2.0 is painful, so I'd love to get this working if possible. Thanks!
