SE Michigan
So I live in SE Michigan, we’re in Canada on a high school race team ski weekend training.
I go to multiple sources for news feed. Typically Apple News, CNN, Fox, and the facebook news tab.
To my surprise in Canada I get a message that implies “Canadian legislation banned content”?
wtf does that imply?

My news apps I typically click and read.

Honestly I don’t really read much news in Facebook feed, rather use its groups to connect with people; MTB riding, home theater, audio, Ford FE engines, photography, etc.

Searchmont Canada ski resort, it’s wet and misty today, but. .. I’d rather be here with my son on a ski hill than many many other places

Huh. I wonder if it's perhaps related to the Online News Act passed just a few months ago? I mean, I wouldn't know for sure, but that could be what's causing your issues.

That's how it looks for Canadians now. Links to news sources (regardless of country) are generally blocked (can't even see the hyperlink, not just the preview blocked).

The rulers of Canada tried to make them pay per link, which makes no sense since it's the media companies that get revenue from the clicks so if anything it should be the other way around, so Facebook disabled them all for Canada. It also means media outlets don't have working Facebook pages anymore (content all blocked).

There are many who suspect that this was the desired effect anyways, though, since nothing about it makes much sense.
