Have been making weekly calls.

Suddenly last week to my surprise I was asked to sign in to FT.

Did so and FT showed my ID w/ a blue check mark, even got an email saying my ID was used on a MBP

Then I clicked NEXT and got the error message:

"unknown error has occurred during registration"

I can sign in at iCloud.com w/ same ID no problem. Have been using FT for several weeks until this problem suddenly came along.

Help page suggested re-seting Pram so did so to no avail. Says FT works with 10.7 and later.
MBP - Maverkcks - FT v3

Can not help but wonder if the 10.7 and later is no longer as I tried with Yosemite and it works.

Perhaps someone with 10.7-10.9 can confirm?

Update:
This page says one needs 10.9 or later:

Apple Tech Support said:
"I do show that it is currently blocked, It does not tell me why it is blocked"

They UN Blocked the MBP/Mavericks and FT now works.

However they also said:
"FaceTime will check once every 90 days to make sure that it is connecting in the background"

Indicating that in another 90 days it might get blocked due to the older software.

Huh, I've been using Facetime fairly regularly on Mavericks without problems. Haven't needed to call Apple.

All I know is they said it was blocked - now works fine after the un-blocked.
