File Formats

I have a hard disk camcorder, it outputs the files into MPEG2 files, I can convert them to Quicktime, I want to be able to save them to another filetype that Windows users can see with Media Player.. I cannot go with the Quicktime format, I must have it as something other than that.

Any suggestions on a program?

Prefferably free, but will buy if I have to...

It is shareware, $15 to register. It allows you to convert a huge amount of file types to other files types.
