All Devices Files app. Thumbnails not showing through SMB connection

Is there any way to enable thumbnails for files when browsing your Mac in the files app through SMB? Images, pdf's, movies and so on don't have thumbails. In iCloud drive and on external HDD's thumbails are showing.

If not, does anyone know if the files app in iOS 14 show thumbails via SMB?
